Cana Island, USA
From Wisconsin with love
From this view high above Cana Island, it looks a bit like a big, forested heart (it's the snow gathered into a point over the bottom of the island that gives it that heart-like shape). In keeping with the romantic theme, at the top left of the island is the fantastically picturesque Cana Island Light. Part of the town of Baileys Harbor in Wisconsin's far northeastern corner, Cana Island first lit its beacon in 1870, and the lighthouse is still operated by the US Coast Guard.

This Lake Michigan islet's true heart" is revealed when just enough snowfall accumulates at one corner."
