Arco Naturale on the island of Capri, Italy
March to the arch
The namesake of soft drinks and cropped trousers alike, this Italian island has a shoreline defined by cliffs and caverns. On the opposite end of Capri from the island's most famous attraction – the eerie yet romantic Blue Grotto – a sweeping stone arch overlooks the azure Tyrrhenian Sea. The Arco Naturale, itself a collapsed grotto, is only reachable on foot – but rising a few kilometres from the centre of Capri village, it's not a hard hike for those who seek a unique panorama.
Grottos dot the coast of Capri, but this one collapsed long ago to form a distinctive arch.
