Paragliding at Compton Bay, United Kingdom
Straight over Compton
When the southwesterly winds blow towards the shore, Compton Bay's conditions are perfect for catching some air above the English Channel. Windsurfing, kiteboarding and – as seen here – paragliding are popular in this corner of the Isle of Wight. Not a fan of heights or waves? You can still catch decent views from the Isle of Wight Coastal Path, which skirts the bay's shores. Over 110 kilometres long, the path passes through dozens of scenic seaside towns as it circles the whole island.

If you're not up for paragliding, a scenic hiking trail circling the Isle of Wight provides great views too.
